Values and sustainability -vanha-

Quality – Every Gugguu product is tested with different aged children and different shaped and sized adults before the production. During the tests we focus on durability, fit, and practicality. We also test all our fabrics in multiple ways before starting the manufacturing to ensure the high quality standard. High quality in the items supports our ideologies in eco-friendly practices, since our aim is to keep the products in use from child to child to make the lifespan long.

Sustainability – We want to produce close to us, which is why we produce our clothes in Finland and in Baltic countries - this means that we can visit the facilities more often and keep the shipping to a minimum since our warehouse is located in Finland. Our fabrics come from Finland and other European countries. Our cotton accessories are made from 100% GOTS-standard organic cotton. We keep sourcing new, green materials and in the fall of 2019 we introduced a 100% recycled material fabric in our track suits, made from industrial leftover nylon and plastic bottles. Read more about the material here.

Focus on customers – We encourage our customers to give us a lot of feedback and thankfully we receive a lot of great ideas and thoughts from the community. This feedback is used in a lot of ways -  We have made a lot of changes to our products and to our services based on it. Every customer is important to us and we want to serve you the best way we can. We aim to respond to the messages and send out the packages as fast we can. Events and pop-ups are an important way for us to meet our customers and have a chat face-to-face.

Safety – Children’s safety is important to us - thus, we take good care in producing clothes that are safe to use. We take safety into consideration in many ways from design to material use: all of our fabrics have the Oeko-Tex 100 –standard. Read more about the Oeko-tex 100 -standard in here.

About our responsibility and sustainable practices

In 2019 we started producing a yearly report that is a more in-depth look at our sustainability and responsibility efforts and goals. Links to our sustainability and responsibility reports can be found below:

We choose our material suppliers and production facilities based on Scandinavian references. The sustainable production facilities that are up to our high standards are located in Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Poland and Portugal. Our main interests when choosing production facilities or suppliers is that we know their practices, the full supply chain and the treatment and working conditions of employees to ensure that we can fully stand behind them. Thanks to the facilities being located near our operations, we can easily co-operate and make visits to the factories.
